Carlotta McIntyre founded True Confections in 1986 as a home based baking venture supplying high quality desserts to fine restaurants in the Charlottesville, Virginia area. Requests from her customers encouraged Carlotta to add wedding cakes, special occasion desserts, and "just for the fun of it" cakes to her repertoire.

Her cakes, with an artist’s eye for fine detail, have been enjoyed at celebrations in private homes, estates, Inns, and wineries in Charlottesville, and the surrounding scenic Virginia countryside. Well-known patrons Dave Matthews, Corey Harris, as well as new found friends, have all shared in her passion for full-flavored confections.

When asked to sum up her Philosophy on cakes, Carlotta reflects. "The cake is the centerpiece at the reception. It must create the most awesome visual and savored pleasure for every guest. It is the last food that everyone tastes. This sweet memory will linger in their minds when they think about this truly, special wedding day. And they will smile."
